“Ask Me Anything” Gets a Revamp
Hello.
Don’t worry, this isn’t a long read. You won’t be too distracted from your daily life, promise.
I have been thinking long and hard about this – well, I have been thinking long and hard about a lot of things in relation to how I use my time (and some might say, expertise) on this blog and on social media – but with respect to the “Ask Me Anything” questions I do on Instagram I have decided to do things differently.
I don’t like giving short answers to the AMA questions, mostly because people ask me about some pretty complex things, and I like to make sure I give comprehensive answers. But I recognise that giving comprehensive answers which people have to read on IG stories can seem like a lot (and I sometimes use really small writing, which makes it somewhat harder than it needs to be). Also, the answers are gone 24-hours later, never to be seen again. Which means that if you miss them, then you miss out… (hubris much!!)
Therefore, I’ve decided I’m going to answer my AMA questions on here. That way readers access to more comprehensive, longer-form answers, which have more detail and nuance (everyone loves nuance, right?). Additionally, the answers also stay put and readers can go back and read them again and again (I mean, if you want) – or can at least save them to read at a later stage if they find a specific question interesting.
It may also give you, fine readers, more consistent (and hopefully interesting) things to read about (and it will give me time away from my phone and doomscrolling on social media, which often serves as a distraction to me wanting to do some actual writing). So, what I’m saying is that things can only get better from here… potentially. Who knows, it may always stay at this same level of mediocracy (I am not fishing for compliments, honestly, I simply have a self-deprecating sense of humour).
But anyway, that is the update. I have two AMA’s I need to answer, so you can be on the look out for that in the relative near future.
And with that, you may carry on with your day.
All the best,
Nice-ish.
